I am a woman and I am thankful….
I am a woman and I feel blessed to be a woman. I have within me strength and compassion, weakness and fear along with courage to find a solution for situations that make me fearful and for that I am thankful. It is my upbringing and experiences in life that makes me so and what I am today. So I take the opportunity to thank those who made me a beautiful woman…

To my father for holding me strongly
and never doubting my being, my ability
for trusting me with his core
To my mother for pushing me to be strong
and being convinced that I can only be the best
for giving me her strength
To my teachers at St. Thomas’ for their love
and never ever telling me that I am a girl so don’t do this and that
for educating me and celebrating me, my girlhood
To my managers at work for their belief in my capabilities
and being understanding yet giving me equal opportunities
for pushing me into frontiers I did not know I could go to
To my husband for treating me as an equal, as a friend
and for never saying no to anything that I did
for holding me when I tripped and making me walk again
To my daughter for her love and belief and understanding of me
and for teaching me how to be a mother in a world different from mine
for cherishing me as her mother, her friend and philosopher
To my friends, both women and men, whose friendship made me richer
and to consider me as one of their own and share with me their moments
and for telling me I am good as I am
